About ISACs
The value of sharing incident and case intelligence is well established. Presidential Decision Directive 63 and Homeland Security Presidential Directive/HSPD-7 address the need for critical infrastructure identification, prioritization and protection. These directives state that specific federal agencies must "...collaborate with appropriate private sector entities and continue to encourage the development of information-sharing and analysis mechanisms."
As a result, thirteen ISACs have been formed for information-sharing within industry sectors vital to global, national and economic critical infrastructures, including SC ISAC, specific to the supply chain industry.
SCI is federally sanctioned to own and administer the SC ISAC. As a trusted third party, SCI is responsible for collecting, analyzing and disseminating supply chain intelligence, within a highly secure environment, to the security screened SC ISAC Members.
Information is also securely shared between other ISACs and the federal government to enhance our national security on a global scale.
