Millions of Dollars In Stolen Cargo Recovered with LoJack inTransit™

With in-transit cargo theft losses estimated at $50 billion annually, Washington-based SC-integrity is giving thieves a run for their money!

Bothell, WA -- Organized cargo thieves are more sophisticated, more brazen and more adaptive than ever before. With cargo losses in the billions and escalating rapidly, it certainly seems like the adage “there’s no rest for the wicked” applies to these bad guys. As losses rise, every shipper, carrier, retailer and consumer pays the price. This is not only a national problem, but extends globally as well. However, thanks to SC-integrity’s LoJack inTransit™ covert cargo monitoring, recovery and loss prevention service —— the bad guys have met their match!

LoJack in Transit service is a unique approach to combating high-rising cargo crime losses.“ Our goal is to not only track the stolen cargo, but ensure its recovery. We want to make sure that the stolen assets are returned to their rightful owner and that the thieves are brought to justice. For this reason, we’ve created a service that includes leading-edge technology, in tandem with round-the-clock manned communications, to help Law Enforcement secure the necessary warrants and affect the arrests,” explains SC-integrity Founder and CEO, Denis duNann. Cargo theft losses are estimated at approximately $50 billion a year in the U.S. and over $100 billion world-wide. SC-integrity’s LoJack inTransit plays an important part in thwarting these escalating crimes. “The losses are tremendous,” continues duNann. “Worst of all, the monies are going to support organized crime and terrorist activities. That’s why it’s so important to provide Law Enforcement with powerful tools that will help them outwit these highly organized thieves who are well funded and have access to their own sophisticated technology.”

SC-integrity’s Members are actively deploying LoJack inTransit within their supply chain. The following recovery and arrest cases are a testament to the power of the LoJack inTransit service. (The success of these “busts” is due to deployment of covert technology and operations. Member anonymity is of vital importance; therefore, no company names or specific methodology are included.)

Case #1

SC-integrity Member received a LoJack inTransit “probable theft-in-progress” alert due to a virtual fence (geo-fence) breach when a shipment deviated from its designated route. Local Law Enforcement, State Police and a multi-state Task Force were immediately deployed. Due to LoJack inTransit’s covert monitoring technology and a well coordinated surveillance effort, warrants were secured for two separate off-load locations. Five arrests were made and the $835,000 load was recovered — plus $1.25 million of other stolen merchandise.

Case #2

Federal Law Enforcement resolved a case involving an Ecuadorian gang suspected of stealing over 30 trailer loads of cargo over a six month period. Using LoJack in Transit’s web-mapping technology, a “virtual perimeter and route geo-fence” was created with real-time tracking alerts. Over $1.2 million of cargo was successfully recovered, resulting in four arrests. One of the subjects turned informant, leading to the recovery of additional stolen merchandise and arrests.

Case #3

SC-integrity’s LoJack inTransit service helped a California Task Force track and locate a stolen trailer load of electronics. Using two chase cars, the suspects deployed their own counter surveillance through 60 miles of heavy traffic and construction zones. To avoid detection, Law Enforcement relied on LoJack inTransit’s web interface to maintain real-time, online “stand back” visibility of the stolen trailer and cargo. Four arrests were made and the entire load of high-priced electronics was recovered, including $1.4 million in other stolen goods.

To date, LoJack inTransit has monitored over one and half million hours of in-transit cargo over nearly ten million miles, while assisting in recovering millions of dollars worth of stolen assets and facilitating numerous arrests. The service provides:

·         Covert monitoring of the cargo’s location

·         Immediate security protocol breach detection

·         Investigating a breach for timely Law Enforcement dispatch to assure prompt recovery

·         Complete customized evidentiary reports to assist in potential  prosecution

·         Illegal diversion surveillance and sting operations

·         Communication Command Center(C3) manned 24/7/365 with professionally trained Interdiction               Specialists

“We realize supply chain theft is not a ‘one size fits all’ problem. We continually assess new, advanced technologies to assure we are providing our Members with the most effective covert tracking and monitoring service available. That’s why we designed our platform to be flexible so we can meet our Members’ varying requirements,” says duNann.

Among its many benefits, the Communication Command Center (C3) is a favored service with LoJack inTransit Members. The C3 is instrumental in helping Members establish the who, what, when, where and how of any given threat or crime that might occur — real-time, round the clock. The C3 team of professional Interdiction Specialists can contact the right Law Enforcement agency within minutes of confirming a potential theft-in-progess, all while keeping the LoJack inTransit Member updated with real-time location information.

SC-integrity’s proprietary system, its extensive network and database of Law Enforcement agencies, as well as its state-of-the-art Communication Command Center, it’s easy to understand the success of LoJack inTransit and why it is considered to be the most trusted covert cargo tracking, recovery and loss prevention service available. As more companies dependent on the supply chain begin deploying the LoJack inTransit service, cargo thieves will no doubt find it more advantageous to take their business elsewhere!
